What is the big driver?

The stories of people who have spent most of their lives immersed in nature always move me deeply. I believe villages are the best places to live these experiences. That’s why, whenever I return to my country, I head to the rural areas — I walk through them, speak with the people, organize and manage what I can, and take to my sketchbook to draw. It’s my way of getting closer to the soul of the place and embracing its memories.

This time, I traveled to Shian — a village in the Kurdistan province of western Iran. It was the season of ripe red strawberries and a vibrant, colorful autumn.

What am i looking for in my sketches?

  • To sit, observe, and truly feel — not just to look, but to listen with my eyes.
  • To better grasp the materials as I draw them — because the hand often knows what the mind doesn’t.
  • To see more clearly the harmony between everyday life and nature — how a tree leans into a rooftop,, how footsteps shape the earth.
  • To honer the quiet of rural life, where simplicity is rich.
  • To document what may one day disappear.

In every line I draw, there’s a piece of a story  of a place, a person, or a moment that changed me.
